Evans Cycles Case Study


One of our most challenging projects was to turn just 400 square metres of open plan offices and 2000 square metres of warehouse space into an executive office suite with kitchen and rest areas, and create 6000 square metres of storage with a trade showroom.

Having formed a partnership with the client and established a design and specification approved by building control, we set about the 5-week task of creating the fully equipped storage and distribution centre they desperately needed.

The focal point of our design was a two-tier mezzanine floor allowing us to create the additional 4000 square metres of storage space they required. The design of this was crucial, maximising every inch of the existing space.

Due to a large shipment of goods arriving from the far east the other project driver was time. Phoenix were able to get to work straight away and managed the project from start to finish and were able to keep to their critical move in date.

To achieve this, we provided unique storage space designs and solutions, installing approximately 3km of storage shelves.

As part of the project we also designed and installed more than 300 linear metres of office partitioning, a raised access computer floor and all the required electrical, data and lighting services to allow the company to move straight into the new premises upon handover.

We installed more than 3 tonnes of new slatwall for the company’s new trade showroom and installed new floor coverings throughout.

As always phoenix provided the necessary health and safety management tools to deliver this project in a safe manner. We engaged with the client via regular site meetings to ensure the client was satisfied during entire the project.

The end result was one of the Phoenix’s great achievements. Having understood the company’s needs we hit the mark on all counts, providing them with the facilities to allow the company to progress.

    We will produce AutoCAD drawings showing the space you have and various options for your new floor. At this stage we can also begin to plan for how the spacewill be used (looking at your storage requirements or perhaps where to locate your new office space).
